AMKA – STAY WOKE Citizens Accountability Forum Unveils New Report on Enhancing Transparency and Fighting Corruption in Kenyan Counties

The launch of the“Enhancing Citizens' Role in Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Kenyan Counties: Kenya Counties Integrity, Transparency and Accountability t'he launch was officiated by Prof. Kivutha bwana and Busia Senator Oki Omutata who emphasise on promote Cívic Education to all kenyans and t'he report also fighting corruption on counties which have been encroshed by bribery and corruption.
The launch was officiated by distinguished leaders, including Prof. Kivutha Kibwana and Busia Senator Oki Omutata, who underscored the critical need for promoting civic education to empower all Kenyans. The report highlights strategies to combat corruption and bribery, which have deeply encroached on governance structures in counties.
Prof. Kibwana emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of accountability among citizens, stating, “Active citizen participation is the cornerstone of transparent and accountable governance. We must empower citizens to demand integrity from their leaders.”
Senator Omutata echoed these sentiments, stressing the urgent need for civic education initiatives to raise awareness and equip communities to stand against corruption. He stated, “Fighting corruption at the county level is not just a government responsibility—it requires all Kenyans to take a stand.”
The County Governance Watch forum serves as a platform for citizens to actively engage in promoting good governance and integrity in their counties.
