Komrades Power: 13 Women, One Vision, and 17 Luxury Mansions Unveiled at Migaa Golf Estate

In a celebration of determination, vision, and empowerment, Komrades Dream Team, a women-led investment group, has unveiled 17 luxury mansions at the exclusive Migaa Golf Estate in Kiambu. This ambitious project, dubbed Komrades Valley Homes Phase I, represents the remarkable achievements of a chama that began with just 13 women and has grown into a force of hundreds of shareholders.

Komrades CEO Elizabeth Mugo hailed the group’s journey, emphasizing how partnership and resilience brought their vision to life.

“Equity Bank believed in our dream and walked with us to make it a reality. These homes are more than just houses; they symbolize empowerment, secure family foundations, and a commitment to quality living,” said Mugo.

The project was financed through Equity Bank's Ridgeways Branch under its Chama Loan facility with Pamoja Banking, a testament to the bank’s commitment to uplifting self-help groups.

Breathtaking Design Meets Functionality

Nestled in the serene Migaa Golf Estate, the all-ensuite villas boast minimalist designs with vibrant aesthetics. Homeowners praised the luxurious interiors, with homeowner Cecilia Ngaruiya describing them as “elegantly furnished retreats that combine comfort, sophistication, and modern functionality.”

The homes feature spacious living areas, sleek bathrooms, and eco-friendly systems for water and power, ensuring both comfort and sustainability.

Equity Bank’s Support for Women Empowerment

Peter Muturi, Head of Commercial Marketing at Equity Bank Kenya, celebrated the success of Komrades, reinforcing the bank’s role in community transformation.

“We are proud to partner with groups like Komrades that turn bold ideas into reality. This project is proof that collective effort and visionary leadership can achieve extraordinary things,” Muturi said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Equity Ridgeways BGDM Jane Waweru called on other chamas to leverage the bank’s flexible Chama Loan facilities, highlighting benefits like financial literacy training and business advisory services.
