Hon. Godfrey Kanoti, Party Leader of DNA, emphasized that this move is a definitive rejection of tokenism, where young people are often given photo opportunities but not real responsibility. "Your generation is tired of tokenism, where you are given photo ops but not real responsibility, he said. We are tired of gatekeeping, where old systems protect the same tired faces at your expense. DNA is not just welcoming you; we are investing in you.
Hon. Kanoti painted a stark picture of the challenges faced by young people who dare to speak out against the status quo. We have seen young people abducted, tortured, and even killed for daring to speak out, he said. "This is no longer just about unemployment or exclusion. This is about survival.
Praising KIKAO's groundwork, Hon. Kanoti noted that the movement has done the grassroots work that most parties ignore. KIKAO is not a slogan; it is a movement with muscle, he said.
