New Leadership Team Elected at Senior Counsel Bar

The Senior Counsel Bar (SCB) has elected a new leadership team, consisting of Philip K. Murgor, SC, as Chairperson, Joyce Majiwa, SC, as Vice-Chairperson, and Charles Kanjama, SC, as Secretary. The team was installed at the annual SCB retreat held on August 13, 2025, at the Diamond Leisure Lodge, Diani

The new team takes over from the previous leadership team, led by Dr. Fred Ojiambo, SC, who has retired. Dr. Ojiambo succeeded the late Hon. Mutula Kilonzo, SC, in 2013. The new Chairperson, Philip K. Murgor, SC, has previously served as interim Vice-Chair and Organizing Secretary, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to the SCB.

The Senior Counsel Bar was established in 2003, with Hon. Sitswila Amos Wako, SC, EGH, the Attorney-General Emeritus, as its first Chairperson. The SCB has since played a significant role in promoting the interests of Senior Counsel and upholding the highest standards of professionalism in the legal profession.
