Ruto’s Youth Empowerment Plan a Scandal in Waiting

DNA Party Leader Godphrey Kanoti has issued a scathing criticism of the Kenya Kwanza government's youth empowerment initiatives, calling them “a scandal in waiting.” Speaking during an event to welcome hundreds of youth from the Kikao movement into the DNA Party, Kanoti accused the government of using youth programmes as political bait with little transparency or tangible outcomes.

“The so-called youth empowerment plans being paraded by the government are nothing but smoke and mirrors. Billions are being allocated with no real accountability, and I can confidently say this will explode into a major scandal soon,” Kanoti stated.

He noted that instead of building sustainable job opportunities and capacity, the government is focusing on publicity stunts and tokenistic handouts that do not address the root causes of youth unemployment and poverty.

Kanoti further praised the Kikao youths for choosing a bold and independent path by joining DNA, stating that his party offers a genuine platform for young people to lead, innovate, and shape Kenya’s future without being used as pawns.

“The youth of Kenya are not beggars. They are thinkers, builders, and dreamers. The DNA Party is their home—a space to lead with integrity and purpose. We do not need handouts from a system that has failed us,” he declared.
The SG Mr Barack Muluka also empasize and called for an immediate audit of all youth funds, including the Hustler Fund and recent youth empowerment allocations, warning that continued lack of oversight could lead to massive theft of public resources under the guise of helping the youth.

The DNA Party, under Kanoti’s leadership, is positioning itself as a bold alternative voice for the youth, the marginalized, and those disillusioned by what he termed as "the recycled politics of deceit."
