Businessman-turned-politician took helm and party leadership Hon,  Jimi Wanjigi (Business Mangul) has officially taken over the mantle leadership of the Safina Party, succeeding its founding leader, Senior Counsel Paul Muite. The transition was formalized during a Special National Delegates Conference (NDC) held in Nairobi on Thursday, September 18.2025

A New Era for Safina Party to Recolonize Kenya

Hon Jimmy Wanjigi, a contravasial and humanitarian presidential hopeful, promised to breathe new life into the 30-year-old political movement, focusing on an "economic revolution" that prioritizes debt relief, taxation reform, and improved social services. He outlined key pledges, including¹:
- Reducing Value Added Tax (VAT) From 16% to 4%
- Halting Odious Debt Repayment  Focusing on sustainable economic growth
- Free Universal Healthcare Improving access to quality healthcare
- Free Primary and Secondary Education Enhancing education opportunities

Party Leadership Transition

The leadership transition marks a significant shift in Safina's direction, with Wanjigi at the helm. He was deputized by human rights advocate and Stance lawyer Willis Otieno, who emphasized the party's commitment to justice, dignity, and economic liberation for all Kenyans.

Challenging the Status Quo

Wanjigi's leadership comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Safina positioning itself as a formidable political force. The  party's new leadership aims to challenge the current administration, with Wanjigi declaring his intent to unseat President William Ruto.
