A section of Nairobi Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators have called on Governor Johnson Sakaja to seize the opportunity to review his leadership approach and urgently address the challenges facing city residents.
Speaking during a joint press briefing, the leaders—Mathare MP Hon. Anthony Oluoch, Senator Karen Nyamu, Embakasi West MP George Theuri Mwenje, and Senator Tabitha Mutinda—emphasized that the Governor must prioritize service delivery and collaboration with the Nairobi County Assembly (MCAs).
They noted that effective cooperation between the Executive and the Assembly is key to ensuring Nairobi regains its place as a thriving, functional capital.
“Governor Sakaja must learn to work with the MCAs and focus on making Nairobi great again. Nairobians expect delivery of services, not excuses,” they said.
The leaders further urged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and other investigative agencies to step in and ensure accountability and transparency in the management of Nairobi County affairs.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting reforms and oversight that will directly benefit Nairobi residents, stressing that the county government must deliver on promises made to its people.
