Sakaja Tours Crime Hotspots, Vows Security Amid Mugging and Vandalism Rage

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Sunday led a bold tour of several city hotspots that have recently been plagued by cases of mugging and vandalism. His visit comes amid mounting public outcry over rising insecurity in the central business district and surrounding areas.

The Governor, accompanied by senior county officials and security teams, assured residents and business owners that firm action would be taken against culprits terrorizing Nairobians. He emphasized that no part of the city should be left under the grip of criminals, noting that Nairobi must remain a safe space for both its residents and investors.

“We cannot allow muggers and vandals to destroy the reputation of our great city. Security is a top priority, and we are working closely with law enforcement to ensure those responsible are arrested and face justice,” Governor Sakaja said.

The Governor further revealed that his administration will not only crack down on criminals but also engage stakeholders—including business owners, matatu operators, and community leaders—to develop long-term strategies for public safety.
