Safaricom has taken a significant step to support Kenya's transport sector by hosting the Drivers and Riders Festival, part of its Shangwe @25 celebrations marking 25 years of impact and innovation. The event brought together over 200 drivers, riders, and industry stakeholders to address everyday challenges faced by mobility workers.
Empowering the Mobility Ecosystem
Fawzia Ali Kimanthi, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom, emphasized the importance of drivers and riders in Kenya's mobility ecosystem, saying, "Through Bundle Ya Deree and Ofa Ya Boda, we are offering solutions that will keep them connected, safeguard their well-being, and ensure financial security."

- Bundle Ya Deree Integrated value bundles from KES 500 weekly to KES 2000 monthly, including data, minutes, subsidized insurance, and fuel discounts.
- Ofa Ya Boda*: Plans from KES 50 to KES 1,000, offering data, Kredo, free access to rider apps, and subsidized insurance options.
Raphael Masica, a Nairobi-based cab driver, praised the initiative, saying, "Bundle Ya Deree has made a real difference for me, especially the data and insurance support."
