Lawyer Peter Wanyama has officially announced his bid for the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) presidency, promising to prioritize the welfare of advocates and strengthen the bar.

Backed by over 5,000 advocates, Wanyama says his manifestos offer the best way forward for the organization. In a statement on his Facebook page, he revealed that he has been urged by members to run for the top job, citing his previous efforts and vision for the LSK.

Wanyama, who narrowly lost to incumbent LSK President Faith Odhiambo in the 2023 elections, says he is ready to put up another fight and clinch the presidency. "I formally announce that I have accepted their message and will vie for LSK President for 2026-2028 term," he said
The former runner-up emphasized that the elections should be ethical and member-driven, with a focus on core practice issues, strengthening the bar, and upholding the rule of law.
