Mr, Awino has urged Kenyans to demand accountability and transparency in labour leadership. Speaking at a public address, Awino emphasized the need for closer collaboration between activists, institutions, and students to build a more informed and participatory society.
Awino criticized the handling of the Finance Bill 2024, saying early concerns by activists were ignored, leading to nationwide demonstrations. He called for an independent public audit of contested leadership outcomes, citing Petition No. 772 of 2025 against the Registrar of Trade Unions, Anne Kanake.

"We cannot collect money from hardworking citizens and fail to account for it," Awino said, condemning a system he described as failing workers. He emphasized leadership must be grounded in accountability, renewal, and the people's will.
Awino announced plans for dialogue with law enforcement and the Registrar of Trade Unions, advocating for peaceful engagement. "Tunaenda kwa amani, lakini tunaenda na ukweli," he concluded
