Airtel Africa has partnered with Starlink Mobile to test groundbreaking satellite-to-mobile technology in Kenya, ensuring customers remain connected even when traveling beyond the reach of terrestrial networks.


The successful pilot marks a major step toward bridging connectivity gaps across Africa. Leveraging insights from Kenya, Airtel Africa and Starlink Mobile plan to expand the service across Airtel’s 14 markets, subject to country-specific regulatory approvals.

Looking ahead, the partners are preparing to launch Starlink Mobile V2 technology, which will deliver broadband directly to mobile phones. This next-generation service will not only enhance data capabilities but also introduce voice calling, creating a seamless mobile experience for millions of users across urban, rural, and remote regions.


By combining Airtel Africa’s extensive footprint with Starlink’s satellite innovation, the collaboration promises to redefine connectivity standards and accelerate digital inclusion across the continent.
