 Safaricom Plc has posted strong financial results for the 2025/2026 financial year, driven by robust growth in mobile data, M-PESA services, and the rapid expansion of its Ethiopia operations.

The company recorded a total of KES 182.7 billion in M-PESA revenue during the year under review, underlining the continued dominance of the mobile money platform in the region’s digital financial ecosystem.

Group service revenue grew by 11.5 percent to KES 414.1 billion, supported by increased customer demand for digital connectivity and financial services. Mobile data revenue also registered significant growth, rising by 18.3 percent to KES 92.9 billion as more consumers embraced internet-based services and smartphone usage.

Safaricom’s expansion into Ethiopia continued to show promising progress, with service revenue in the market soaring by 86.6 percent to KES 14.1 billion. Tihe strong growth helped reduce losses compared to the previous financial period, contributing positively to the Group’s overall performance.

Speaking on the results, Dilip Pal said the company remains focused on long-term investments aimed at enhancing customer experience and sustaining growth.
“We continue to invest in our network and IT systems to support capacity upgrades and user experience, Ethiopia's performance shows reduced losses relative to the previous period, greatly boosting Group performance. We now move into the second year of our Vision 2030 strategy with a commitment to carry on our execution momentum,” said Pal.
Beyond financial performance, Safaricom also highlighted its social impact initiatives across Kenya and Ethiopia. Through the Safaricom and M-PESA Foundations,
