NAIROBI, Kenya – Senior doctors at The Nairobi Hospital have raised fresh concerns over what they describe as a deepening governance crisis at the institution, warning that alleged defiance of court orders could expose one of Kenya's leading private healthcare facilities to financial and operational instability.

In a strongly worded statement, the doctors accused the High Court's Commercial and Tax Division of allegedly entertaining actions that they claim contradict existing court orders governing the hospital's leadership dispute.

 According to the medics, the developments have heightened uncertainty over the hospital's governance and could pave the way for the dissipation of assets if urgent corrective measures are not taken.

The doctors argue that continued legal uncertainty has created an environment where competing factions are making decisions that could have far-reaching implications for the hospital's financial integrity, institutional independence, and ability to deliver quality healthcare services.

"The Nairobi Hospital is a national institution whose primary responsibility is the provision of quality healthcare. It should not become a casualty of prolonged governance disputes or conflicting legal processes," the doctors said.

They expressed concern that prolonged boardroom battles have diverted attention from the hospital's core mandate of patient care and clinical excellence, warning that continued instability could affect staff morale, investor confidence, and public trust in the institution.

The senior medics further called upon the Judiciary to ensure that all parties fully comply with existing court orders, arguing that respect for the rule of law is essential in safeguarding the hospital's assets and restoring confidence among stakeholders.

The doctors also appealed to regulators, hospital members, and other stakeholders to prioritize the institution's long-term interests over individual or factional interests, saying the hospital's reputation has been built over decades and should not be undermined by governance wrangles.

They warned that failure to resolve the impasse promptly could expose the hospital to further legal disputes, financial losses, and reputational damage at a time when the healthcare sector is already facing significant operational challenges.
